23 Set STN – Stintino and Asinara: many activities in one holiday
A week in Sardinia, between Stintino and Asinara with a bike and boat: for those who enjoy being active and full of energy!
Deep in the wild beaches and the center of Stintino, amongst the rich smells of myrtle, juniper, and arbutus, you will find a cozy ecological bed & breakfast. You will feel just like at home; a friendly atmosphere coupled with the highest professionalism. Here you can really experience Sardinia, far from the crowded touristic villages. We will take you through fun cycling and walking paths, and unforgettable coves and beaches via sailboat. This is the holiday that will give you a chance to visit a unique Sardinia, in contact with nature while respecting it at the same time.
PROGRAM
MONDAY: Arrival in Stintino and accommodation in the charming B&B. Following room assignation, we relax with an aperitivo while we get a briefing of the holiday. Later, we explore the town and its surroundings through a relaxing walk in Punta Falcone, while enjoying the beautiful panorama.
TUESDAY: Following breakfast, we head to Asinara by bike and on foot. The itinerary stretches down the coast offering a glimpse to the most charming places. We take a break for lunch on one of the gorgeous beaches of the route and then back to the hotel for the afternoon.
WEDNESDAY: We are ready for an unforgettable sailboat tour to the Asinara National Park, a protected marine area. Here, we find the most beautiful coves for a swim in crystalline waters or some snorkeling. Onboard, we have lunch cuddled by the sea. We then go back to the ground for a light trekking excursion in nature. Back in the boat, we have some last dips in the sea before heading back to Stintino in the afternoon. Dinner in a local restaurant for some typical cuisine.
THURSDAY: transfer to Alghero, where we reach the Anghelo Ruju necropolis. The site, discovered by chance in 1905, is one of the most significant prehistorical complexes of Sardinia, with its curious burials excavated in rocks. Our itinerary proceeds to Neptune’s caves, in the heart of Capo Caccia, one of the most fascinating natural treasures of the Mediterranean. The caves can be reached both by boat and on foot through the Escala del Cabirol, the staircase of the roe. From the staircase, we can also admire the suggestive view overlooking the sea.
FRIDAY: back from Stintino’s port, we sail to Asinara, a beautiful and uncontaminated island where a local guide will take us through the park. It’s time to begin our excursion: here can do some bird-watching, trekking, and observation of the wild animals of the area (such as donkeys, moufflons, horses, and boars). During the excursion, we will also visit historical, cultural, and natural places that are embedded in the history of the area. This is the perfect opportunity to experience the power of Mother Nature.
SATURDAY: Today, we focus on relaxing by the beaches of Stintino thanks to the beautiful waters of Pelosa. This heaven-on-Earth allows us to forget the frenetic rhythms of our routine. For the afternoon, we take a walk in the old and charming Stintino and its Tonnara museum, a tribute to all the tune fishers. Back in the B&B, we get ready for a typical Sardinian dinner in a farmhouse.
SUNDAY: Last breakfast together before heading back home. We say goodbye to this astonishing land that gifted us unforgettable memories.
Important: Program may vary based on weather conditions. In case of bad weather on Tuesday, we can make an easy excursion in the roads of Nulla, between Stintino and Asinara, through the beaches of Saline di Lampianu and Rena Majore. We will cycle and walk in a flat coastal path and a disused salt pond, an area of naturalistic interest for its animals and plants.
